Grizaye (pronounced griz-EYE) is a new company started with an innovative product created to help you improve your art fast.

Grizaye is also what we call our grayscale image and is derived from the French art term Grisaille meaning "grayed".

Some. We have found that Gamblin Odorless Mineral Spirits (OMS) work well for our kits and pencils.

If using another brand of colored pencil and/or solvent, we recommend experimenting on a test sheet first.

Water and Holbein Meltz is to be avoided.

We do not have lightfast results for our Grizaye colored pencils or colored charcoal pencils. We do not make any claims, but are confident that you will find them similar to other colored pencils at similar price points.

Yes! Our Grizaye images are printed 100% cotton Legion Stonehenge paper which is acid, chlorine, and

YES! Our exclusive royalty-free images were taken specifically for these kits, so you can be confident to sell, share, or post your artwork with no credit-back to us required. However, reproducing the uncolored Grizaye image or photograph is not allowed.

Most likely not. COLORED PENCIL Magazine challenges and competitions do not allow you to enter artwork over underpaintings. Read though the qualifications of the competition you are entering first, and contact them with any questions before submitting and paying any entry fees.

14-Days to Return
We accept returns on physical items within 14 days of receipt. All digital sales, including classes, are non-refundable. Shipping charges are non-refundable unless we are at fault.

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. 

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. 

To start a return, you can contact us at contact@grizaye.com. Once your return is approved, you will need to sent your item to the following address: GRIZAYE ART 4205 S NC HIGHWAY 62 UNIT 37, ALAMANCE NC 27201-0037

If your return is approved for a shipping refund, and we are fault, we will send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. 

Damages and issues 
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. We may request a photo to help identify the problem.

Exceptions / non-returnable items 
Certain types of items cannot be returned, such as seconds or grab bags. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. 

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items, or gift cards. We also do not approve returns on merchandise shipped outside of the Continental United States, but may still be eligible to full or partial refunds.

Exchanges 
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds 
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. 
If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return.
